What does it take to install?
It is important to understand that the mBrace Performance Test does not require a production like test environment. An ordinary test environment with hosts with 2 cores suffices. Databases must be properly filled.
The mBrace tooling requires access to the hosts in the test environment and a connection for uploading measurement data to the mBrace site. Some businesses do not allow such access to their Acceptance Test Environment for security reasons. Sometimes ordinary test environments having a lower security profile are permitted.
The mBrace tooling consists of three parts:
There are three install scenarios:
1. Full SAAS
All parts remain at the mBrace site. The testers use the tool via an RDP session with the tooling.mBrace support sets a few parameters. The customer provides access to the test environment. Installation is done within one hour.
2. Half SAAS
The Data collection controller is installed on-premise either before or behind the firewall of the customer. mBrace support sets a few parameters. The customer provides access to the test environment. Installation is done within one hour.
3. On-premise
All parts are installed on-premise behind the firewall.mBrace prepares the installation. The customer provides access to the test environment. Installation is done within two hours.
An install script of 1 minute is run by the tester each time there is a configuration change. This may entail a change in the test environment or the mBrace software.
